An excellent communications team is key to ensuring people hear about us and we listen to what they're saying. We need someone with the courage to challenge convention and the passion to deliver real results to join our team.

Ideally with some management experience, you be supporting and mentoring team members, handling the day-to-day management of the communications team, including its press office role, and monitoring and reporting back on performance. You'll be involved in proactive media relations, answering media enquiries, relationship building with officers and councillors, turning key messages about council services and priorities into creative campaigns, and helping to maintain the reputation of the organisation.

You'll need to show 100 per cent commitment, strong creative flair, good writing and media relations skills and an appreciation of the issues we face as a borough. All this plus you will have experience of working in a busy communications environment and will have, or be working towards, a relevant professional qualification.
