We are keen to recruit a Principal Engineer to undertake a varied and demanding workload in charge of the Parking and Traffic Control Team within the Traffic Management Group. 

You will need to have a degree in Civil engineering or related discipline and preferably to have attained chartered status. Your experience will include several years working in a senior position dealing with traffic management issues. The work will entail managing the development and delivery of Council policies relating to parking, traffic regulation Orders, cycling and walking development, traffic signs and accident analysis. 

An important function of the post will be the co-ordination of all traffic management input into the development of Cardiff's central area. Good communication skills are essential as your duties will involve dealing directly with Council Members as well as various internal and external organisations at a high level.
